Hero ITeS buys UK’s Dalglen BPO

HeroITES, an independent strategic business unit of the approximately Rs 14000 crore Hero Group has announced the acquisition of Dalglen, a UK-based BPO and call center company, for about USD 81.7 million including an upfront payment of USD 62.3 million. The acquisition has been completed through Hero UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hero, which is a Netherlands-based offshore wholly owned subsidiary of HeroITES. The move is in line with the company’s plans to strengthen its BPO capabilities abroad. In addition, the transaction will allow HeroITES to be ranked in the top 15 BPO companies in India and the top 10 BPOs in the UK. The combined entity will serve clients spread across various domains including telecom, financial services, IT, retail, utilities, and consumer durables. The deal includes the acquisition of various wholly owned subsidiaries of Dalglen, such as Telecom Service Centres (TSC), TSC Credit Management, Sigdev, and TSC’s nine dormant subsidiaries. Dalglen with its significant operations in Scotland reported revenues worth USD 112.3 million in 2007. The company is ranked among the largest call centers in Europe and the UK. It employs around 3,000 professionals at its 9 facilities in the UK. Some of its clients include Vodafone, T-Mobile, Hewlett Packard, and HSBC.
