Team Leader

Primary Responsibility
This role is primarily responsible for managing the team in order to achieve targets on a day-to-day basis and for demonstrating subject-matter expertise.

· Adherence to the SLA’s – productivity, turn-around-time, and accuracy
· Engage in improving processes through reengineering, system checks, process automation
· Interact with client on transactional issues
· Handle Client Queries on a regular basis
· Review daily key operational variables
· Develop back up and contingency plans
· Act as a change agent and provide implementation assistance as and when the need arises
· Provide subject matter expertise on processes
· Update Manager on process performance and critical people issues
· Identify potential people issues amongst the team & resolve the same on a proactive basis
· Provide process problem resolution assistance to teams via calendarised one on one’s and coaching sessions
· Assess performance of Team Members and conduct performance appraisals
· Provide coaching and feedback to team members
· Hold regular team meetings with Team Members to ensure that there is constant flow of information and knowledge dissemination –query logs, issue resolution
· Assist new hires such that they are productive on the floor in the shortest possible time frame
· Assess training needs, provide training opportunities and train new hires and existing staff
· Cross train Team Members
· Appropriately use Rewards & Recognition to energize to motivate Team Members
· Handle all logistics related issues: roster management, shift rotations.
· Leave planning, Managing Compensatory Offs, Unscheduled Leave
· Initiating Disciplinary procedure in conjunction with HR and Reporting manager.
· All Team Members in the team – for the purpose of coaching, motivating & assessing their performance
· Managers/ DL’s in the Operations department – for the purpose of planning, and sharing performance feedback
· Black-belts in the Process Excellence team – for the purpose of improving the process
· HR Team for co-ordination/delivery of HR Services and People Programs
Verification of trade details originating from Reuter’s conversations, broker confirmations (BART) and SWIFT trade confirmations.

Perform telephone confirmations on transactions due for payment where we do not have receipt of counterparty confirmation.
Input and verification of settlement instructions for FX, NDF and Money Market trades against back office system trade source.

Daily investigation of any transaction discrepancies/exceptions relating to FX, NDF and Money Market trades. Including the use of the FIONA system and liaison with our business partners, external clients and various trading desks.

Input and verification of general ledger accounting entries, manual creation of adhoc payments using the Swift template for all branches supported as and when required.

Agree netting of trades, and settlement thereof.

MIS, reporting of operational and trading exposures to management.

Responsible for clearing of items on the daily exception accounting reports.

Daily control reports including Unconfirmed Transactions, Cash Transactions, Transaction Deletions, BAD news reports.

Primary External Interactions

· Process owner at the Client end – for the purpose of routine checks, process control, handling issues & maintaining the relationship
· Working closely together with Static data team, Settlements, Traders, and clients to ensure accurate information is updated within our processing database.

10 Team Members

Graduate/Post Graduate in Commerce with exposure to the Capital Markets especially Foreign Exchange processing
Experience & Skills
· 2-4 years, in Service, with people management experience of at least a 1-3 years
· Proven individual results in a deadline and target driven environment.
· The individual should be career oriented, a self-starter and pro-active.
· Exposure to or demonstrated interest in financial markets.
· Excellent oral communication skills are crucial to the role.
· Excellent written skills for any correspondence business partners.
· A strong sense of ‘team’ is essential as is a flexible, enthusiastic work style.
· Analytical thinker who can show they are someone who takes ownership for problems, and offers solutions.
· Numerate, and articulate, as the role requires extensive communication with business partners.
· Be able to work on own initiative.
· MS Office proficient and strong IT application skills along with the energy and ability to learn new systems.
· Ability to confidently interact with other areas of the bank.
Ability to build and maintain open and effective relationships with associates in UK, US and Asia.
· Successful candidates will be results orientated and enjoy working in a lively pressurized environment.
